Salâm سلام, translated as Peace, may be the best-known of all Arabic words, but it should not be thought that it corresponds perfectly to its English counterpart: the family of words from the root SLM express soundness, wholeness, safety, trust, surrender. The derived adjectives describe a state of being proper, sound, unblemished, uninjured. and even perfect. For this reason my design is six-fold and displays at its heart a basic construction of six-fold geometry: 6 is regarded as “the perfect number”, and its symbolism fits closely.
As-Salâm also happens to be one of the Ninety-Nine Divine attributes: God as both Peace and Source of peace, safety, wholeness and well-being.

The soft green of the design is glazed with an iridescent blue, so that the colour’s appearance shifts in the light between green and blue.

A penny for your thoughts...
