At the root of this name is RZQ, from which comes the word rizq, “a gift of blessing from which all can benefit”. This is the aspect of God that provides what we need to live, or rather what we need in order to make a living, as illustrated by the saying: “The bounty of the dates can be seen at the bottom of the well.” One has to use the water for irrigation, in order to enjoy the fruits!
The Provider الرزّاق
“Ar-Razzaq is the one who continuously provides the means for each of us to get what we need for our daily sustenance, our bread and butter.”
